Cherry Blossoms Plus

Cherry Blossoms Plus

EDIT 11.1.2013: I toned the image down a bunch. I like the cleaner look.

Another shot from the archive, this time heavily manipulated.

For a while I was experimenting with using a fill flash cranked down by two stops, shooting very close up to the subject. Generally I would have to underexpose the shot as well to avoid blowing out the subject because the flash was so close. The benefit of this was that the sky would be very dark and the shots would have a weird indoor studio look. The other cool part was that I could aggressively manipulate the colours without posterizing them very much or at all. This one I obviously went crazy on, but I like the look.

Colour-correction(?), levels, sharpening and manipulation in Photoshop.
