Kelly's Bike

Kelly's Bike

This photo used to be on my old website and I was asked to bring it back.

It was taken with an APS camera (an underwater Canon elph) that, come to think of it, I haven't seen in a long time. Thinking about it prompted me took look for it and I actually found it.

About the photo: Just south of Broadway, east of Cambie, there's streets full of old character houses that are great to see. On one street, there's five houses that are all kind of joined up on one property with a common driveway going up the middle into a courtyard in the back where I think there's a B&B. We went there for a birthday party and I was able to walk around and get a bunch of interesting shots. It's great to live in a city with so much character.

Anyway, this bike marks the driveway for these houses and it's obviously been there a while. I walked past there about a month ago, and the bike is still there. I took the photo perhaps eight years ago.

About the camera: it's such a cool little camera, it's just a shame that it uses APS film as that format just sucks. It tried to be too much and ended up being nothing. If only it was digital. At the time it was tiny and the shape of it is so cool, kind of round with green plastic inserts. You'll just have to take my word for it.

Perhaps I'll take a couple of pictures of it. Nice industrial design shots.

Scanned, colour-corrected and an artificial depth of field blur was added in Photoshop
