On the Bridge

On the Bridge

When I first got onto the Lions Gate Bridge on the morning that I took this slide shot and this digital shot, this is what greeted me. It's not a very hospitable place to spend two hours - and pretty noisy - but the view more than makes up for it.

I have to say that I'm really happy with the exposure on this as it pretty much was a total guess. There is plenty of detail in the suspension, the lights aren't blown out, there are a few lights visible on the north shore and the sky is just starting to get some light - defining the mountains. Not only that, but I got some nice light streaks without taking any headlights straight into the lens.

What I could do without? The reflected lights in the railing - they're overcooked.

Scanned slide, colour corrected, sharpened in Photoshop.
