Alone

Alone

This man sat in the front entrance of this building for quite a while and, while people were going in and out, none of them ever noticed his presence Then again, I'm not sure he wanted them to. All the same, from the vantage point I had, it looked like a fairly lonely scene but that of course is my interpretation.

I guess I'm showing my bias. One assumes that being in a wheelchair must be a lonely, isolating experience and so, looking at this, I'm all too ready to imbue the image with those emotions but I don't really know. He could be perfectly content sitting there and, indeed, he might very well be a happier, more optimistic person than I'll ever be.

If you know me, that's probably the case.

Fuji Velvia 100, scanned, de-saturated, sharpened in Photoshop.
