From the Ground, This Time

From the Ground, This Time

Another shot of the Wall Centre but this is taken from the gardens right in front of it. I suppose that in order to get the extra height and density of this building, the trade off was that they had to put in a fair size garden/open space out front. All in all, I think it's a fair trade.

Begin rant:

I am a huge proponent of high core density in an urban area. I can't tell you how much I hate the god damn suburbs and the sprawl that accompanies them. Endless row of anonymous housing with miserable strip malls as foul punctuation. Along with that comes the attendant vehicle because, god knows, there sure as hell isn't anything within walking distance. Then, of course, is the commute. I walk to work. It takes me 15 minutes. I listen to music and look at all the sour faces in cars, sitting at traffic lights. It's even better on friday afternoons. Then the sour faces turn positively angry as people can't figure out WHAT THE HELL IS HOLDING ME UP! I have to get away from the job that I hate to the place that I bought in the middle of nowhere in this 4WD lease payment that costs me so damn much THAT I CAN'T QUIT THE JOB THAT I HATE.

On fridays at rush hour, it still takes me fifteen minutes to get home.

Fuji Velvia 100, scanned, colour corrected, sharpened in Photoshop.
