I know that some of my shots on this site do have crazy colours but honestly, those are the real colours of the shots - I just correct them in Photoshop and put back some of the contrast that's lost in the capture (film or digital).
This is a great example. It's a long exposure of the beach in Mazatlan and what you see here is almost exactly as it came out of the camera. The green is from the beach lighting and I have no idea why the sky is so purple. It was about a 30 second exposure or so (I was drunk at the time so I can't really remember) and I imagine there was some serious reciprocity adding to the effect.
