Panorama Roof Ballroom

Panorama Roof Ballroom

Zooming in to the Panorama Roof Ballroom at the Hotel Vancouver. This is a sister hotel to the Banff Springs Hotel and the Empress Hotel in Victoria.

It is amazing to me that Canadian Pacific was able to build these hotels and about a dozen others across Canada from 1886 to 1939. Now, it doesn't seem that hard for a company to build fifteen hotels over fifty-five years but, considering that some of the hotels were literally out in the middle of nowhere and are seriously stately and gigantic, to call it amazing is an understatement. This hotel is actually the newest.

If you're interested, check out the Wikipedia entry about them.

Fuji Velvia 100, scanned, colour corrected, sharpened in Photoshop CS3.

On a note that probably means nothing to anyone but me, but I've got Photoshop CS3 Beta now and it's crazy fast on my MacBook Pro. If you're in the market for a new laptop, I've got to say, Apple is so the way to go.
