Been a while...

Been a while...

There are two things that converged to get me to post this photo (which is the first posting in far too long).

  1. I ran into an old friend the other day whom I haven't seen in years.
  2. I got the full Adobe CS3 Design Premium pack which got me wanting to try out Photoshop CS3 Extended out on some images that I've always kind of liked but weren't really that good due to some technical issue(s).

In this case it was a lame colour cast due to the indoor lighting and some onboard flash crappyness (which you can still see a bit of in the shadow behind her head) that blew out some of the highlights.

The camera raw features available from Bridge allowed me to get that muted-colour-yet-still-saturated look which I really like.

This image hella screams for an off-camera flash and a Sto-fen diffuser but you make do with what you have.

Mental note: carry yer' damn flash with you and pick up a diffuser already.

Fuji Velvia 100, scanned, colour corrected, sharpened in Photoshop CS3 (Extended!).

On my mac, this shot is a little dark, a little contrasty but that's the way I meant it. On a PC, this shot is damn near black. Oh well.
