Pretty Menacing

Pretty Menacing

Because this is a flower, the rather nasty looking center doesn't look so bad. If it was an insect that center would be the most disgusting thing alive.

Be that as it may, I love the pollen that sitting on the petals of this flower. It was one of the first "macro" shots I did with this camera. When I say macro, I'm sure there are some people that roll their eyes but my definition of macro is pretty much anything that I shoot way up close with a fair amount of zoom. Not very scientific, but close enough.

I adjusted brighteness, contrast and sharpness in iPhoto because, for some reason, this was one of those strange photos that would posterize really badly when I imported it into photoshop. I don't know why but some photos that are just out of range for photoshop and seem to be just fine in iPhoto.

I'm really impressed by iPhoto. The photo editing tools are intuitive and effective. It will never supplant photoshop, but for quick simple edits, it's a great tool.
