All In A Row

All In A Row

At the opposite end of downtown from the last few cityscape shots, these ones are all lined up at the edge of Coal Harbour. Every one of those condos has a great view of Stanley Park.

This is kind of interesting: almost all of the buildings that you see here - or here for that matter - are 10 years old or newer. It's not that Vancouver had no tall buildings before, it's that they've expanded out from the downtown core right to the edges of the water. Not only that, but any small buildings in the core have been replaced by towers. If they haven't, it's only a matter of time.

My point of view? Bring it on. Density is the only way. If there's anything in this world that I hate, it's the suburbs. Actually there's a lot of things that I hate, but suburbs are up there.
