Yerebatan Caddesi

Yerebatan Caddesi

secret grafic

This is a really colourful street in Istanbul called Yerebatan Caddesi which means "The Avenue that Sinks Into the Ground".

It doesn't really. The name just refers to the Yerebatan Sarayi Sarniçi (The Palace Cisterns) that are underneath this area.

Our friends were staying at a hotel near here and it this was a great area to sit down and have something to eat before going to the Hagia Sophia or the Blue Mosque which are both just down the street.
