Tudor Glass

Tudor Glass

A few years ago I bought this glass ball made by Morna Tudor. It's a magnificent piece with layers of painted glass that hold the most amazing colours. From what I understand, she does not make these anymore because they are too intensive and time consuming. In a way it's a shame, in a way it's not: I have one.

I'm fairly happy with the lighting on this and the composition is ok - if you're going to shoot something like this from this angle there's really not much to composition - but, in the end, it's just an ok shot.

It's all in the details with these shots and I've been lazy setting it up. The lighting could highlight the interior of the glass a little better, I could have made sure that there were no little bits of dust on it and I could have made sure that the base (which prevents it from rolling around as, aside from the missing slice, it's totally round) could not be seen. It also looks a little crooked, but that could just be me.

Colour-correction, cropping in photoshop.
